Stubborn

I know most of you won't believe me but Miss Kaylen is VERY stubborn and at times can throw a fit so bad that I'm sure ailens have abducted my real child and sent some crazy person here in her place as some expirement. The only thing that will stop the fit is if I totally ignore her.

This is the after effects of such a fit.



This fit was the result of me telling her she should just take a nap on the couch instead of her bed. She works very well with change.

13 Months

- Walking full time
- 1 tooth (and it is crooked) It looks like she is eating paper.
- Sleeping well
- Eating VERY well
- climbing everywhere
- Can point to nose, eyes, ears, mouth
- CURLY hair just like her sister
- Loves to read books

Houston we have a problem

At Christmas we had a big blizzard. This month it was ice. Bryan was home and called to tell me I needed to come home early. I thought he was crazy but came home anyway. Two hours later we had no power.

It gave us a chance to start a fire for the first time in our house.



LB had to try and help out.

She was tired of making a fire and just found a pillow and crashed.


Bryan made a GREAT fire.


Our power was out for two days. We made it one night at home and then went to Bryan's parents because they still had power. You don't even want to know how many times I flicked the light switch in our house trying to turn a light on when I walked around to different rooms. Habits are so hard to break.

OCD: Part 2

We are not quite sure where the obsession with dinosaurs started but it is here in full force along with the OCD.



If you notice - they are grouped together and in a straight line.



She is wearing the dinosaur shirt I made her. It is hard to find dinosaur stuff for girls.



I believe she is watching Dinosquad on the computer.


The T-Rex is her favorite.

Get out your slicker - Bath time!!

Saying that LB loves taking a bath doesn't even begin to describe what takes place when you mention the words. It can only be decribed as mass hysteria.

I had a friend once who had this giant dog. It was part St. Bernard. For exercise they used to load him up in the car and go out to some place, (I was 10 so I don't remember where it was.)let him out of the car and then drive around while he chased it. When they felt he was tired enough they would load him back up and go home. I tell you this because when they were ready to take him out they would say "Brownie, you want to go for a run?" Upon hearing those words this GIANT beast of a dog would begin thrashing and jumping around like mad. This is what happens in our house when I tell Laney it is time for a bath. It continues through out the bath. There is LOTS of splashing going on and you can't take your eyes off her for a minute as she has NO fear of going under.







This doesn't go over well when Kay is in the bath with her. Kaylen isn't into splashing. It goes against her need for order.

The bottle

So....again...bad mother here. That is becoming the norm around here. My middle child syndrome is starting to make sense now. I wasn't negleted - my mom was TIRED. I'm sorry, Judy. Please forgive me for wearing you out 34 years ago.

I know LB is supposed to be off the bottle at 12 months. Well, that came and went and we have had no movement. But, she has been sick. I do plan on working on it as soon as she is well. Until then - here are some shots of her chugging back some pedialite while enjoying Mama's pillow.



I am working on it a bit - here she is with a sippy cup at least.

Walking Full Time

My Laney Bug has decided to walk full time now. She is still a little wobbly but then again, I'm still a little wobbly sometimes. K still thinks she has to help her along most of the time which just causes LB frustration.

I used to have two babies.

Not long ago I had two babies. Then I blinked and only had one. Somehow Kay has turned into a little girl on me.



She tells these wild ellaborate stories. She talks about friends and her feelings.



She tells me "I love you so much Mama" without me even asking.

Illness=lack of pictures this month

LB has spent alot of time this month being sick. She has had problems with her ears, a stomach bug, and teeth trouble. This doesn't give me many opportunities to take pictures. Add in Basketball season and this is all you get.



I think she may even have some boogers on her nose. Please excuse the bad mothering - I'm tired!!!

Laney's 1st Birthday Party

We had a small party for Laney's Birthday. It was just our family and the Grandparents.



I didn't get a great picture of LB and her outfit but I plan on taking her to have pictures made in it so you'll see better shots of it then.
