Pink Eye

Well, last I left you K had pink eye in her right eye. We did the drops and such as the Doctor ordered and yet we were only getting worse every day. Wednesday June 27, her Doctor sends us to an Ophthalmologist who says it is just a virus and will have to run its course. That night she got feverish so I had to take off on Thursday. I had already planned to be off on Friday through Wednesday so it was a loooooonnng weekend for me. We were planning on going to Kansas for the Zamarripa family reunion. Saturday comes and tada… the pink eye moved to her other eye so now we have it in both eyes. No trip to Kansas for us.

K was finally able to get over the pink eye by Sunday when magically – I GOT PINK EYE. Thank you for sharing little girl. Isn’t she sweet. We are doing our best to make sure my eye is the final pink eye in the house.

K has started a new thing where you can ask here where someone is and she do her hands like thisPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
and we say “I don’t know”. She thinks it is hilarious.

Maybe due to us being cooped up inside or just her growing up but she has also started REALLY watching TV. This can be a good and bad thing. Before she only watched when there was music on the TV, now she’ll watch an entire episode of Johnny and the Sprites. She LOVES Johnny and the Sprites. When she is watching, you could drive a Mac truck through the room and this is all you get.

If you haven’t had the pleasure, it is a show on Playhouse Disney that is magnificent. Why this guy isn’t a serious actor I’ll never know. And the sprites.. genius. (can you feel the sarcasm?)

Family fun at the zoo

One of the perks of being a Federal Employee is that we get 4 hours of leave for donating blood. The blood drive was on Friday so I took off half a day and Bry came up and we took K to the zoo. We haven't been in a long time and they have tons of new things. It is really very nice.

Our first stop were some birds. You buy nectar for a couple dollars and the birds come right up to you. Well, you have to watch out because they totally attack you for the nectar and they are drinking it all day so... lets just say they have accidents often so you must beware.

K didn't like them at first because they came and sat on her stroller.

Then she got used to them.

They have also installed misters through out the park. These were the best. She loved going in them with her dad.

My favorite was the gorillas. We were even charged by the silverback. It was cool. He was huge.

We got home and noticed that K's right eye was red. So... after much discussion and a call to the Dr. we figure out she has Pink Eye.

If it isn't better by tomorrow she may have to go to an eye Dr. We'll see.

Last but not least, I've told you before that we have progress in the walking department. I finally got video proof. Here she is in all her glory. Walking her few steps.

and... this is her dancing and watching American Idol... it is an old video.

Post Father's Day post...

We had a really nice weekend. It rained alot so we stayed inside most of the time but little K played and played her heart out. She really loves her little chair that we got her for her birthday and she'll spend almost every waking hour in the thing, dancing along to the music. She LOVES to dance. Any time music comes on tv, her toys, etc. she starts getting groovy.

Here she is on her chair.

She also loves to clap. It was funny because we were watching the US Open this weekend and when a golfer would finish, the crowd would clap and she would stop where ever she was and start clapping. She is soooo funny. She also loves to pull things off of the coffee table. Bryan had done laundry and her bibs were still on the table. She had fun playing with them.

We got Bryan a new briefcase since his old one had a whole in it. We also had homemade lasagna from The Pioneer Woman. And on Sunday we had some steaks. I think Bryan had a good father's day. We tried to make it nice for him. He does so much for us and is such a great Dad to K. We love you Bryan!!!

Father's Day is coming

Everyone ready? I'm not. Can't think of what to get Bry? Saddly we were talking last night and I don't remember what I got him last year. Maybe it was his rocker bean bag chair. I know that I took Kaylen to OKC with me for the first time to get it but I can't remember what it was.

Bry has had camps all week so we'll probably just hang out around the house this weekend. It is supposed to rain anyway so there won't be much to do. I think K is having some reaction to the shots she got last week as she seemed to have somewhat of a fever last night and a stuffy nose.

She is taking a couple steps unassisted when I force her to. She'll walk just enough to get close to you then she leans forward so you will catch her. She's tricky that one. Yesterday we were coming home and I put on her sunglasses. She wore them all the way home. She even fell asleep in them. I got a picture on my phone but I have no idea how to get it on the computer so... I'll just post a pic from her 1 year photoshoot.

First post.

I probably won't be to good at this blogging but I'm going to give it a shot.

I think I'm going to use this space to give daily/weekly updates on Little Miss K and life with at the Merritt household.

This week Bryan is taking his HS team to Newcastle for some games. They are playing 3 a day so he's pretty worn out when he gets home. He is missing 3 of his starters and as of today after 6 games, they are 4-2. Not bad. Last week they played in Lawton and were split at 3-3. I believe last year (his first year) they hadn't won a game so this is a vast improvement. He is the best coach alive so that should come to no surprise to anyone!!! No I'm not biased.

Little K took a couple steps last night. She is so stubborn though that once she gets close enough to you she just leans forward and lets you catch her. She has also taken to waking up at about 1:00 a.m. just to chat. Not quite sure why she thinks this is appropriate but we are going to put the kbosh on that tonight I think. I'm really going to try this time to kick her out into her own room. We've tried the little Arm's reach Co-sleeper and she now realizes she can still crawl into our bed to sleep with us.

I'll also try to add one new pic a day just so you can see her pretty face!
